Do you love fritters with chai especially during rains? Then you should definitely try this recipe made from banana stems.
INGREDIENTS:
▪️ Manja / Banana Stem : 1 piece (As per the size available in market)▪️ Jeera: 1 teaspoon
▪️ 2 finely Chopped Onions
▪️ 2 finely Chopped Green Chillies
▪️ Finely Chopped Coriander leaves
▪️ Turmeric powder
▪️ Rice Flour: 3 tbsps
RECIPE:
1. Peel the banana stem in vertical manner and then cut into horizontal round slices. While cutting each slice pull the fibrous strings and throw it.
2. Then cut the slices into small cubes and keep it soaked in water, else it would lead to browning or blackening of the banana stem cubes.
3. In a wide bottomed vessel, add two cup of water and a pinch of turmeric powder, salt according to the taste and the banana stem cubes and let it boil for 10mins in a medium flame.
4. After the banana Stem is boiled strain the water completely.
5. In a Bowl take the boiled banana stem, chopped onions, green chillies, Jeera, coriander leaves and Rice Flour.
6. Mix everything well.
7. Grease your palms and make small ball of the mix.
8. In a pan heat oil. If you want shallow fry pour less oil and for deep fry pour oil accordingly.
9. Fry it until golden brown.
10. Serve it hot with some chutney.
