DIY Herbal Pack for Long Voluminous Hair

 YOU WILL NEED:

▪️1 cup Hibiscus leaves
▪️ 1 cup Curry Leaves
▪️ 1/2 cup Henna Leaves
▪️ 1 cup Red Hibiscus petals
▪️ 2 tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
▪️ Yogurt to make Paste


INSTRUCTIONS

1. Sun dry all the ingredients and make fine powder. 

2. Add Yogurt to the mix powder to make a thick Paste. 

3. Apply on hair and scalp and leave it for 40 mins-1 hr.

4. Later wash it off with mild shampoo in cold water.

CHHENA JHILLI || PANEER JALEBI RECIPE

 Chhena Jhilli is a popular Odia sweet. It is a deep fried curd cheese soaked in sugar syrup.



INGREDIENTS:

For Chhena Jhilli:

▪️ 500 gms Chenna/Paneer
▪️ 3btsp Flour/Maida
▪️ 3tbsp Suji/Rava
▪️ Oil as Required for deep Frying
▪️ 1 Ketchup Bottle/Ziplock Bag

For Sugar Syrup:

▪️ 1 cup sugar
▪️ 3 cups of water
▪️ 5 roughly crushed Elaichi/Cardamom pods
▪️ 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice


INSTRUCTIONS:

For Sugar Syrup:

1. Add sugar and water to a pot.

2. Boil on a medium heat until it reaches one string consistency. You can measure the consistency by taking it in between your thumb and index finger.

3. Pour lemon juice and Cardamom powder. The lemon juice will prevent the crystallization of sugar.

4. Remove from heat and set it aside.

For Chenna Jhilli:

1. In a mixing bowl, take 500gm Chenna/ Crumbled Paneer and add 3tbsps Maida, 3tbsps Suji and a pinch of Baking Powder.




2. Mix everything well to make a fine dough. Knead the dough for about 10 mins to make it soft.

3. Now transfer the dough to 1 Ketchup Bottle/Ziplock Bag with a small nozzle.

4. Heat oil in a pan.

5. Now squeeze the dough from the bottle/ziplock bag and move in circular motion to make a spiral shape.

6. Fry it in low flame until it turns golden brown.

7. Move the fried spiral balls to the sugar syrup.

8. Let it be soaked in sugar syrup for 30 mins before serving.


Trust me, it is as sweet and soft as it looks.

DAHI MANJA || BANANA STEM KADHI RECIPE

 The best thing about a banana plant is the entire plant plant is either edible. Many use it in their religious rites as well.

One such part of the banana plant is its stem. In this article we will prepare Kadhi/Raita out of the banana stem.


INGREDIENTS:

▪️ Manja / Banana Stem : 1 piece (As per the size available in market)
▪️ Amba kasi Ada/ Mango Ginger
▪️ Finely Chopped Pudina Leaves
▪️ Finely Chopped Green Chillies
▪️ Red Chilli: 2
▪️ Panchphoran: 1 teaspoon
▪️ Curry Leaves
▪️ Finely Chopped Coriander leaves
▪️ Turmeric powder
▪️ Curd: 1 Bowl
▪️ Sugar: 1/2 tbsp and Salt as per taste


RECIPE:

1.  Peel the banana stem in vertical manner and then cut into horizontal round slices. While cutting each slice pull the fibrous strings and throw it.

2.  Then cut the slices into small cubes and keep it soaked in water, else it would lead to browning or blackening of the banana stem cubes.

3. In a wide bottomed vessel, add two cup of water and a pinch of turmeric powder, salt according to the taste and the banana stem cubes and let it boil for 10mins in a medium flame.

4. After the banana stem is boiled strain the water.

5. Roughly mash the banana stem with sugar, mango ginger, green chillies, chopped coriander and pudina leaves.

6. In a pan heat oil. Add panchphoran, hing and then curry leaves. Add red chilli and Banana Stem mix. Mix everything well.

7. Switch off the flame and let it cool down a bit. Add curd to it. Check salt and add if required.

8. Serve Dahi Manja/Banana Stem Kadhi with Rice.




BANANA STEM FRITTERS || MANJA BARA RECIPE

 Do you love fritters with chai especially during rains? Then you should definitely try this recipe made from banana stems.


INGREDIENTS:

▪️ Jeera: 1 teaspoon
▪️ 2 finely Chopped Onions
▪️ 2 finely Chopped Green Chillies
▪️ Finely Chopped Coriander leaves
▪️ Turmeric powder
▪️ Rice Flour: 3 tbsps
▪️ Salt as per taste


RECIPE:

9. Fry it until golden brown.

10. Serve it hot with some chutney.



CHOCOLATE CAKE from Biscuits Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

▪️ Chocolate Biscuit
▪️ Milk
▪️ Eno

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Take any Chocolate Biscuits of your choice.

2. Crush it to fine powder.

3. Add milk as required.

4. Add 1 sachet Eno.

5. And Add cold water to Eno. Mix everything well without any lumps





6. Grease a bowl.

7. Sprinkle little flour in the greased bowl.

8. Meanwhile heat a wok and place a stand in it.

9. Transfer the cake batter to the greased bowl and place it on the preheated pan.

10. Cover it and cook for 45 mins-1hr.

11. And Voila!! Yummy soft Chocolate cake is ready. You can do the dressing with some melted chocolate or Nutella.

OATS CHILLA

 Bored of having the regular oats!!


Many of you might not be eating oats because of its taste. You might be bored of switching between regular oats and masala oats.

      Well you should definitely try OATS CHILLA which is super easy, tasty and healthy. Believe me this is going to tickle your taste buds.


INGREDIENTS:

▪️ 1 tsp Mustard seeds
▪️ 1/2 tsp Cumin/Jeera
▪️ Few Curry Leaves
▪️ Few finely chopped Coriander Leaves
▪️ Salt to taste
▪️ 1 finely chopped onion
▪️ 2 green chillies
▪️ Chopped veggies of your choice
▪️ 1 cup Oats
▪️ ½ Yogurt


INSTRUCTIONS:

▪️ In a large pan heat oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp cumin and few curry leaves.

▪️ Saute and splutter on medium flame.

▪️ Now add Chopped Onions and Green Chillies. Saute well.

▪️ Further add all the chopped Veggies.

▪️ Add salt to taste.

▪️ Cook for 5 mins until the rawness of onions and veggies disappears.

▪️ Now in a bowl take the oats and add yogurt and chopped veggies and coriander leaves. Mix it well. Add water and salt if required.

▪️Make sure not to add too much water. The batter should be of smooth flowing consistency.

▪️Keep the batter aside for sometime for the oats to absorb the yogurt.

▪️ Next, heat a tawa or a flat pan.You may use an iron tawa or a non stick pan. 

▪️ If using iron griddle or tawa, then spread a bit of oil on the tawa. Let the pan become medium hot. Then take a ladle full of the batter and pour on the pan.

▪️ Gently with the back of the ladle, begin to spread the batter. Spread lightly and gently so that the cheela does not break.

▪️ On a low  flame cook the oats chilla till the top begins to look cooked. Do not increase the flame as the cheela might get burnt.

▪️ Then drizzle ½ to 1 tsp oil on the chilla at the edges and all around. With a spoon spread the oil all over. Skip oil if you want to prepare oil free oats chillas.

▪️ Continue to cook till the base gets light golden. Then flip.

▪️ Now cook the other side of oats chilla.

▪️ Cook this side till you see golden spots on the oats chilla.

▪️ Fold and serve hot or warm with Chutney/Pickle.



DALIA UPMA || BROKEN WHEAT UPMA

 Dalia Upma is a savory broken wheat breakfast loaded with fresh vegetables. It is a quick and easy dish which is high in protein.


INGREDIENTS:

▪️  4tbsp oil
▪️ 1 tsp Mustard seeds
▪️ 1 tsp Urad Dal
▪️ 1/2 tsp Cumin/Jeera
▪️ Few Curry Leaves
▪️ 1 Dried Red Chilli
▪️ Cashews
▪️ Peanuts
▪️ 1 inch Chopped Ginger
▪️ 1/4 tbsp Turmeric
▪️ Salt to taste
▪️ 1 small finely chopped onion
▪️ 1 small chopped tomato
▪️ 2 slit green chillies
▪️ Chopped veggies of your choice
▪️ 1/2 cup Dalia/Broken Wheat
▪️ 3 cups of water


INSTRUCTIONS:

▪️ In a large Wok heat 4 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp urad dal, ½ tsp cumin, few curry leaves, 1 dried red chilli, Peanuts and whole cashews.

▪️ Saute and splutter on medium flame.

▪️ Now add Chopped Onions, Ginger and Green Chillies. Saute well.

▪️ Further add 1 tomato and all the chopped Veggies.

▪️ Add ¼ tbsp turmeric and salt to taste.

▪️ Cover and cook for 5 mins.

▪️ Now add 1 cup Dalia/Broken wheat  and roast on low flame for 5 minutes.

▪️ Pour 3 cups of boiling water on roasted Daiya and keep on Low flame.

▪️ Cover and cook for few mins on Medium Flame until the Daliya absorbs all the water.

▪️ Finally, serve mixed vegetable Daliya Upma / Broken Wheat Upma hot with Chutney.
